As more and more industry giants disclose their plans to set foot in the metaverse, elements of the metaverse are already everywhere – though many of us may not be particularly aware of it.
A notable example of metaverse application in business is Hong Kong Ocean Park’s joining of hands with The Sandbox virtual platform to create an innovative entertainment experience. Another is ‘Hydeout: The Prelude’, a virtual music festival created with the help of Pico, which allowed audience members to interact with artists and others through digital avatars.
Large-scale events infused with elements from the metaverse can break barriers of geography, time and language. Digital technology can also enhance the audience experience and even build or expand audience communities. Adoption of these technologies and concepts is essential to a successful brand or marketer.
